Changing modes whileweighing may affect the accuracy of the scale. CAUTIONDo not exceed the total capacity of the Gram/Ouncescale (2000 g / 70 oz) when weighing objects orcombinations of objects. Exceeding the totalcapacity of the scale will cause a readout display of"E" and may cause damage to the scale. The AVA system contains an electronic gram/ounce scale (WP0004 00 figure 3) for measurement of the weights usedin the balance of aircraft equipment. The scale is capable of measuring weights of up to 2000 grams / 70 ounces ineither the "normal" or "TARE" modes.a.Normal Mode of OperationThe normal mode of operation is as follows:1. Place the scale on a flat surface that is not subject to vibration or air movement.CAUTIONAlways turn the scale OFFbefore selecting a displaymode of Gram or Ounce. Changing modes whileweighing may affect the accuracy of the scale.2. Select a weighing mode by sliding the Gram/Ounce selector switch to either the Gram or Ounce mode.3. Turn the scale on by pressing the ON/TARE switch on the front panel and wait for a "0" (zero) indication.CAUTIONDo not exceed the total capacity of the Gram/Ouncescale (2000 g / 70 oz) when weighing objects orcombinations of objects. Exceeding the totalcapacity of the scale will cause a readout display of"E" and may cause damage to the scale.4. Place the weight to be measured as near to the center of the top tray as possible.5. Read the weight of the object on the front panel display. The readout may wander slightly due to thesensitivity that is affected by the slightest vibration or air movement.b.TARE Mode of OperationThe TARE mode of operation is as follows:1. Place the scale on a flat surface that is not subject to vibration or air movement, and gently insert the toptray.
