(1) Wholesale Stock. Upon Receipt of this TB, depot and materiel activity commanders will en-
sure all items in condition codes //A//, //B//, //C//, //D//, and //E//, listed in paragraph 7, are placed in condition
code //J// and tagged with a suspended tag/label - Materiel, DD form 1575/DD form 1575-1. Do not remove
original condition tags. Report compliance with this TB IAW paragraph 14.b(2), NLT 23 July 2001.
(2) Retail Stock. Report receipt of this TB IAW paragraph 14.c.(1) NLT 23 July 2001. Upon re-
ceipt of this TB, commanders and facility managers maintaining retail stock at installation level and below
shall contact the supported aviation unit to perform the procedures required IAW paragraphs 8 and 9 on
suspect material. Dispose of discrepant material IAW paragraph 10. Report compliance with this TB IAW
f. Components/Parts in Work (Depot Level and Others). Depot and other maintenance activity com-
manders will ensure items listed in paragraph 7 are not issued until they are in compliance with this TB.

Summary of Problem.
a. SOF Message UH-60-01-09 (TB 1-1520-237-20-233) was issued on 8 June 2001 requiring an in-
spection of the main rotor expandable pins, P/N 70103-102/103. That SOF removed all main rotor blade ex-
pandable pins that had a material non-conformance from service and stock and mandated a one time inspec-
tion of all other pins for cracks and corrosion. As a result of the SOF, a rework program has been initiated
to replace the discrepant part on these APEX manufactured pins.

The purpose of this TB is to:
(1) Provide specific serial number information to allow identification of serviceable pins manufac-
tured by APEX manufacturing.
(2) Provide disposition guidance for non-conforming pins.
